About Transcend Education tutors
My name is Gary Andrews and I am the business owner of Transcend Education Tutors. I am a qualified teacher with nearly 20 years experience of working in primary schools across London. The most recent school I worked at – for the last 8 years – has been deemed ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED since 2007.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been an outstanding classroom practitioner who uses teaching strategies that accelerate progress and boost attainment for all pupils including those from disadvantaged groups.

Make a Difference with Effective Tutoring
Trusted research from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) tells us: when tuition is of high quality and aligned to classroom teaching then pupils make up to five months additional progress. This research underscores the importance of the teacher having experience with and understanding the primary national curriculum and that is why we only use qualified teachers at Transcend who work with the curriculum day in and day out.
The EEF also tells us that tuition for literacy (English) is more impactful in supporting progress with children of primary school age. Therefore, effective English tuition in the formative primary years provides a very solid platform for progression and attaining well at secondary school.
